those reallyi are terrible caps corsair, cheapest chinese possible no doubt, you should be ashamed to put your good name to such rubbish.
I've never heard of them, what's wrong with rubycon's or such like? if you are marketing it hi end computer, it deserves some decent caps. how about a revision to correct the shortcomings. wolfie, the dip in the frequency response MAY be made up by a reflection from the desktop, did you find that in your measurements? how do these compare to the top of the range logitechs which are available in 5.1? z505? is it? thanks Last edited by ianm2; 03-24-2012 at 05:00 PM. |

No desktop to reflect off of - the satellites were on a shelf above the desk. About as close to full space as I could get. They just don't go low enough. I knew they wouldn't quite meet the sub the second I saw them out of the box.
Haven't heard the Logitechs. |

hi no I meant it may be intentional in the design that the gap is to be boosted by a desktop reflection....I think tho a reflection there is circa 500hz if I recall correctly...

to add to the gushing praise, its a brilliant article, you really know your stuff, esp. about audio, I am a bit of an audio nut, I fancy your horn loaded speakers, nothing quite like horns is there?
best wishes

Enjoyed the review.
Alway was tempted to build a pair of Klipsh Korner Horns, if I has a time and a suitable room. Anyway picked up Corsair SP2200 on sale, hope to go to the 2500s eventually. Keep on having fun. |

a certain "breed" of speakers are called active monitors, I don't know where your located so I can't link to a local site, but if you have a look for these, if you are really interested in speakers, these will give excellent sound for a small price, they may need a bit of know how to install tho'.
check out sound on sound for reviews of these http://www.soundonsound.com/search?u...42&Summary=Yes wolfie shoulld be able to help more.... sorry wolf, I have the logitek 5500, not the 505!! I think they are pretty good indeed. for pc speaks anyway, certainlyi cost enuff |

Wolf i have a question regarding the UCA222 as well.
Will it make a difference using that (or the FCA202, firewire is better for me since i have a port available) with the SP2500 compared to my Imac27" buildt in soundcard ? I haven't received my SP2500 yet, my previous speakers where Altec Lansing MX5021 which died on my a few days ago after serving me well for 6-7 years. Thanx! |

@Paul,
What year/make is your iMac; there are some differences between the different models of iMac's and what they use for DtA sound processing. |
