In the review it says that it can't do full power at 50*C, did you actually do an OTP test on the guy?
Also, for this guy and the 500w model, they really can't fit more inside of them for the 12v filtering. Though I do wish the "stock" cabling was better. You can always get it customized to your needs but it's pretty poor out of the box. |

It has no OTP protection that I could find. I wanted this thing to stay alive, so I didn't bother trying to kill it.

It's not really fair to say it can't handle Temp X then is it?
We've seen units in the past that were rated at 40*C operating at 45*C or higher, with even hotter exhaust temps (in excess of 10*C at times) but not shutting down or having an issue. It just seems like as a "bad" point, it's overly negative. |

Y'know, that psu is 81mm wide -- wide enough for two 40mm fans . . .

Not with a power cable, transient filter, or modular connector board.

But the 500-Watt sibling has 20mm for the power cable. Just noodling around with ideas. Actually, it looks like a single 40mm fan is good enough, if just barely.

hmm, if I used a duct on the outside, say an Arctic Cooling F8, and cut that stamped grill away. Or even a 70mm OEM heatsink fan.
Nooo. |
