Sucks. I'm sure you know what to do but for everyone with affected drives :
1. Don't turn the PC off 2. Backup if you didn't already 3. Check the firmware version with the Seagate Drive Detect software. 4. Contact Seagate and mention the article number. HTH |

Heh - mine's probably ok... it predates the problem by several months. Actually, it was one of the first of the 7200.11's to come out. It came out so early it had the 8MB buffer bug and I had to update the firmware just to get all 32MB to show up.
It's never powered down these days unless I need to for some reason. Most of the time it's on 24/7 along with my old Maxtor 250GB. But I emailed Seagate anyway. |
