It's at best a guestimate. Likely a very low guestimate. The software works by looking at your system's overhead and then calculating how much power it would use for doing what your computer is doing. The only way you're going to get accurate power consumption numbers is with something with a hardware interface.

I agree.
But even as a guesstimating software, it's better than nothing, no? I mean, for users to get an idea of their PC's power consumption?

Even a Kill-A-Watt is going to be way more accurate than this software. These days, you can actually check a Kill-A-Watt out at some libraries.

Tried it.
Showed 150 watt. Actual =Folding and using 190 watt per killawatt meter. Also it somehow lists a monitor consumption. I don't know how it possibly figure that out. Anyway, with the 50 watts that it is showing for the monitor taken out, it is only about 50% accurate. I can do better taking WAG based on CPU thermals and GPU card. |

I did some testing, it's a little on the low side.
The CPU is way too low, my X3 435 requires around 90W at stock voltage and from what I saw around 70W @1.15-1.20V. That's way off from the 33W this thing is showing me. And what is that Base thing?

@ Lemmy -- you were able to install it successfully? I tried several times, I get errors...

It installed just fine, but I can't calibrate it.
