Arrow BFG LS Series Revisited

Quote:
A little while ago, the Wolfster (that's me) took a look at some brand new offerings from BFG, the LS series power supplies. Well, times have changed and these units have changed too. A 450W model has been added, while the 550W model gets a new OEM in Enhance. Join me and we'll see if the change was for the better.
There are 12 distinct Falco song references in this one, some more obvious than others (13 if you count the one I referenced twice). I wonder how many people spot all 12

I didn't catch all the Falco references, great read though.

Gotta love Enhance products, even if they're not indy regulated.

So they are two Enhance ATX-0250GA rated at 450W and 550W (40c) respectively? Identical components inside...
That 550W has a lot of juice from +12V. But it's approaching its limit at test 5 as the ripple and efficiency showed.
Great price anyway.

Why do i feel the Fortrex made LS-550w is somewhat better than this Enhance built unit ?

Oh yeah, that's it, my mind wanders to Paul's review over MX 550w -IIRC, it uses the same platform as Fortrex's LS 550w, i remember that reviewed unit has quite an excellent ripple and noise characteristic under heavy load.

Great review as usual.

You may want to know that in the conclusion, the Performance of the LS 450 is rated as a 9 in the body but 8.5 in the score breakdown.
