try clearing it again...also it should have a clear cmos jumper near the battery, you should not have to physically remove it. According to the MANUAL, your supposed to unplug the cord from the PS before you clear the cmos, otherwise it may get corrupted.

Unplug it and use the actual jumper, it's right by your ide connector, just move it over to the next set of pins and wait a few secs and put it back in it's original position. If you pry the battery out you'll just end up ruining the tension on the battery clip and it'll get loose eventually.

Yes, turn off the power supply or unplug it, then use the CMOS reset jumper, leave it there for about 15 minutes, put it back where it was, and power up again. Don't NOT have stand by power to the board when clearing the CMOS.

This motherboard does not have a reset CMOS jumper =/ only way of doing it , was told by intel support, is to remove the battery.

I downloaded the manual and according to the manual it does too..unless you have a stupid revision, but my guess is retarded tech support...

They should note that that isn't the bottom of the board but rather the right edge (as you look at it with the top of the board north of you).

I looked it up that jumper its not for clearing the comos =/
on the manual it says:

default (1-2) the bios uses the current configuration and password for booting
configure (2-3) after the power on self test runs, the bios displays the maintenance menu. Use this to clear the password.
No cap on (recovery) the bios recovers data from a recovery diskette in the event of a failed bios update.

this is what actually started this mess for me, i tought it was to reset the comos and sinc ei moved it i was no able to change the year and sometimes it will freeze .

I am going to change my motherboard anyways. Today i picked up an Abit ip35 pro but i returned i was not to happy with few things.
Right now i do not know what to get. I am thinking the DFI LP p35.
What you guys think of DFI?

DFI? Heh, around here I can tell you that the general consensus is "not much".
