Hi.
I have a quick question regarding possible resistance issues when running an 8800GTX on the Silverstone DA750 PSU. The DA750 has 4 x 6 pin PCIe power connectors however only two physical cables are present as each cable splits off to share 2 x 6 pin PCIe power connectors. I understand using 1 cable with both ends used will introduce resistance but is this necessarily a bad thing? I know the card will power up fine but in the long run will it be ok? Will the psu be under heavier stress due to this? Is there a risk of damaging the psu and/or card due to running like this? I ask because I am finding this unit kinda flakey for a modular unit as it seems like you still need just about every cable connected to run a high end modern system. I would like to save on some cable clutter by using only 1 cable instead of 2 which will leave 2 x 6 pin PCIe connectors dangling in the middle of my case that need to be tucked away some place restricting even more airflow. I want to know if this resistance business is really a serious thing or just a technicality. Will the card run better or overclock more if I had 2 seperate power cables running it etc. Thanks.

AFAIK the DA PSUs have single 12v rail, so you shouldnt have any issue no matter which cables you will plug the gtx.

yes it is a single 12v however I will have one cable split into two connections going into the same card. I know it was recommended that I use two seperate cables with one connection on each to minimize the resistance. I am wondering if this is just a technicality or something I should be taking seriously.

Each, or even both, of those cards will not even come close to meeting or exceeding the electrical capability of either the wires or the connectors. Of course there's resistance. There's always resistance. But it's so minimal there's no effect on the voltage.

ok great thanks. So I can save on cabling and just use one cable with both connectors.
