Let me apologize in advance if this was covered previously, I didn't see anything that seemed to relate directly to my requirements.
So down to my scenario, basic components: Core2 based - 63xx/64xx variant (depend on price drop in April) Basic accelerated 3d PCI-e video, ie. no supplemental power connectors. 6-12 HDD's - 7200 rpm Requirement priorities: 1. Obviously must drive the rig with some room for extra overhead. 2. Efficiency, @avg/idle load, higher the better considering 24x7 uptime. 3. Cost 4. Noise - "home" server, not sure how much noise isolation I'm going to able to put into this. 5. Connectors - with all the drives I would prefer as many primary 5V/12V leads as possible to minimize splitters. 6. Airflow - well ventilated enclosure, must account for its own heat production only. Any suggestions given the criteria would be appreciated. p.s. Keep up the reviews JG. Nice to see some analysis with something other than a mainboard and multimeter. |

True.
The only thing that holds me back from recommending it is the fact that they really do split the +12V rail in two. If it was one rail, that's be different.
