I have about 26 GB of DDR, among other things 10 GB of ECC unreg and a second place world record set of TCCD. I have a number of flawless 939 boards and a number of 939 boards with known glitches that have specific use.

I'm not going to throw all this out and go AM2 to see virtually no improvement in performance but get unknown boards, much less boards with questionable support for ECC unreg.

Even the 3.0 GHz X2 is a joke compared to what Core2 has to offer. Why in the world would I go AM2? The reason why I use socket 939 is that I have solid, known-good components. If I want to trade to get performance at the cost of uncertainty, I go socket 775 or 771.
