In summary: Excellent power supply, the only problem is pricing.

Man, that LED fan sure commands a price premium over CX500, doesn't it?

Indeed it does, the PSU did surprisingly good for a DSAII unit... then again, it's the right season for cherry picking.

As expected, but the price on these units has only been good when you go into a store and look at them vs the Antec's on the shelf.

    And noise??
As they use a 140mm fan with 2800rpm, 48,5dB(A). That's something one would usually find in a 1200W PSU. But in a 500W PSU?! Really?!

Stefan, just curious - what did we do to offend you?

It seems you are very hateful towards Corsair in just about every thread.

Hm, I'm wondering why you don't answer my question or just throw some facts at me to show that I'm wrong.
That's how I've done it, if I would represent a company.

So since you're here: Why did you put a high rpm 140mm fan in a 500W PSU? I don't see any need for it...
And since I doubt that the fan would work with three volts and assume 5V instead, I don't think the PSU Gabe tested will have an acceptable noise level.

Oh and by the way: its similar to my statement towards the Thermaltake Smart Power 750W

And by the way: your service in Europe ins't very good at the moment (to be polite). There are some users already complaining about your service. And even some of them are a little more present in german forums than the average joe...

I just don't like loud PSUs, that's why I don't use my X7 at the moment. And I don't use a cougar or bq PSU at the moment either.
Well, the first part isn't that true, but take a look for yourself
    I think that's a pretty decent, 650W 'Cougar' PSU, don't you?

First, the fan in the GS is used because it was the same fan we use in the other GS products, and since we don't have any other LED PSUs, we re-used it instead of sourcing it separately for a relatively small selling unit. To my knowledge, it does not ever run up to its full RPM in the GS500, but I will double check.

Secondly, the GS500 Gabe reviewed here is about 82% efficient at full load, meaning that to produce the 500W of output, it draws 610W or so from the wall. 110W of heat being generated. In comparison, the AX1200i (80 Plus Platinum) at full load draws about 1340W from the wall, or 140W of heat being generated. So overall, the relatively low efficiency of the GS500 (80 Plus White) and its low price point in EU was the primary reason for its fan selection.

If you don't like loud PSUs, you'll love our new lineup.

The new GS600, GS700, and GS800 are Bronze certified and turn the fan off at low loads.
The new HX series is all Gold certified and turn the fan off at low loads as well.
The new AX1200i is Platinum certified and turns the fan off at low loads.

The biggest complaint we got on our former GS, TX, and HX products were noise levels. We had very limited complaints on anything else - cables, power output, reliability - these were all fantastic. So we addressed it on all 2012 releases.

As for our German support, I'm not sure what you mean by "our service isn't very good", but I'll address it with our regional customer service and sales staff to see if we can be more helpful.
