Default Modular Cable shorts out power supply!

I just put together a new system and found that one of the SATA modular cables shorts out the power supply. Whenever i connect any device, the power supply would shut off and not go on again. Tried with two separate systems. Check the continuity with a multimeter and it seems fine. Anyone know what could cause this? I see nothing wrong with the cable. Its an OCX 600w modxstream.

    What's the system itself?

And are you 100% certain it's plugged into the right spot on the PSU?
Intel i7-2600k with an XSPC Raystorm water block, 4x4GB Corsair Dominator, SLi Evga-GTX560Ti-448 FTWs, Asrock Extreme4 Gen3, Crucial M4 256GB SSD, Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD, powered by a Silverstone Strider+ 850 PSU in a Silverstone TJ-07BW case.
I'm not buying EK GPU blocks ever again. (One GPU killed)

Is it the new ModXstream with the two red 8-pin connectors and four black 6-pin connectors? Remember that the black connectors "oppose" each other, in that the connector plugs in one way on one side and another way on the other side.

Also, just because you have continuity doesn't mean the cable is wired correctly and it will appear to be fine. Are you sure this is the correct cable for this power supply? Was it a brand new out of the box power supply or is it possible the cable for another power supply was with this power supply?

Is it just one cable that does this or do all of the SATA power cables do this?
