    Default Seasonic Platinum 860W

    Review up at Anand:-

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/5464/s...um-series-860w

    "Probably the best PSU ever..."

    my m12d quivers..

Seems like the 1000w tech and build quality has trickled down to the 860w.

It didn't, that review is trash... look at the numbers and use your head.

How exactly is the review "trash"? I thought it was well done for the most part.

I poorly manifested my disgust here
"Probably the best PSU ever!" was a predetermined conclusion in my view..

Well, he hasn't tested many other Platinum-rated PSUs, so he doesn't have much to compare it to. However, it certainly is one of the best PSUs on the market.

That's no excuse for the lack of provided information such as testing equipment, methodology, and error tolerance. Not to mention Anandtech hasn't published a review on a Super Flower power supply since 2008, but the reviewer had no qualms about throwing their name in the mud.

I'll stick to Jonny's and OW's reviews. K THNX BAI

Let me rephrase that, he seem to have had a predetermined agenda in regard to what the PSU should score and more importantly, how utterly lame the excellent competition is.

The PSU did good, regulation was considerably inferior to the XP-1000(according to his own tables) which was a surprise, ripple/noise suppression was better(as expected), the cross-load tests were a little too good as was the efficiency, but all in all a solid premium unit.
Now, maybe he has a thing for Seasonic(it wouldn't be the first time for P3DN), or for this specific unit, it's understandable since everyone has their preferences and perfect impartiality is boring as hell anyway; but why trash talk the competition!?

Crmaris was more elegant than me and suggested that maybe Super Flower refused to play ball with him, in which case he's just a sore loser and a weak individual... but I'm not content with that answer, I think(no proof) this review was payed for, to go that low as to question someone else's product based on name alone(Super Flower) is beyond pathetic, what's next?.. Super Flower is poor because their PR rep is fat?.. and he wears pink socks!
