Default Antec goes 80plus platinum with new Eartwatts

The new Antec Eartwatts series comes in three flavors. They are EA-450 Platinum, EA-550 Platinum and EA-650 Platinum. MSRP for those units are 109.95, 119.95 and 129.95USD respectively. OEM is rumoured to be FSP.

Police arrest two kids. One was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.

I have no idea. Probably based on the FSPxxx-80ETN platform?

Definitely FSP whatever the platform. The "Noise Killer" sticker is a dead give away.

    That seems most likely.

IIRC the Aurum's OEM name is EGN so it could be (as I assumed) a Platinum version of Aurum. Though, I don't think we've seen internals of any of FSP's Platinum designs.

A case similar to VP series, which is kind of cheap...

VP units are Value-Power and the only thing "wrong" with them was the fan grill at the top which caused more noise then your traditional circle/wire grills.

You think the punch grill's are noisier than fan guards?

That's what I am thinking about. Punched holes cost less than installing a separate grill, but make noise.

People may buy 80plus platinum units for low speed fans and quietness. Sometimes they can't get what they want because of unnecessary cost-cutting features.
