    Default Direct x version on 32-bit window 7

    hi all. if i install the 32-bit version of win 7, which direct x would i get? can i play direct x 10 or 11 games on it? or only direct x 9 games?

    32-bit or 64-bit... either way, Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11.

    It comes with DirectX 11 and all the libraries used by a few versions before DirectX 11.

    So if you try to play a game that only knowns about DirectX 9 or 10 like say... Counter-Strike, it will run in both modes, whatever you select from the game menu or whatever the game likes more. You'll even be able to play games like Puzzle Quest which use Direct Play (internet gaming, player matching, lobbies etc) from DirectX 8.

    The 64bit version of Windows 7 probably has both 32bit and 64bit versions of DirectX, because a 32bit game wouldn't be able to use 64bit DirectX.
