Default Review: ThermalTake Toughpower Grand 1200w

Over at Bjorn3D, we have a review of a 1200w unit from ThermalTake's ToughPower line-up. The voltage regulation isn't all that tight, and B3D doesn't seem to have the gear to completely load up units with this kind of high wattage output, so the load readings are only at about 850w or so....

They measured it at wall too, so it's more like 750W...

No reason to get this PSU, if AX1200 can be had for similar price, and ZX 1250W cheaper.

Strider Gold 12000w or MAXREVO 1350w are cheaper options as well. (Whilte still performing better, being 80+ Gold, and fully modular.)

Gold Class 1250w, TPQ-1200 OC, SGalaxy EVO 1250w, Lightning 1300w, & the HCP-1200 are all cheaper better units as well, and also priced cheaper (even on MSRP.)

What baffles me, is Coolmax sells the ZPG-1200B for $220 which is a much more fair price for a unit like the TPG-1200's performance levels.

Super Flower Golden Green, same as the one that Jonny reviewed here.

The first group is of fully modular units; but the second is only the semi/mostly modular units.

They're solid connectors that hold well but nothing that really would make someone want to use them over the standard assortment of connectors.

    Also, all 18AWG around.
