Default Need about a 500-600 watt power supply.

So I need a good quality power supply without spending an arm and a leg.

I'm looking to run: Athlon II X4 (maybe phenom II X6 later?), 2 (maybe 4 sticks later) of DDR3 RAM, 1 case fan (maybe 2? I doubt it), WD black SATA, DVD burner SATA, and a 4670 (maybe a 6770 or GTX 4/560 later).

    Any ideas?

    I thought of a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256071

I tried the CX500 watt builder series 2 and it squealed like a pig twice soon as I hooked it in , so I refunded it this time.

$90 is very 'pressing' on my budget, but I might could do it.

BTW: I have the machine running on a 300 watt bestec power supply at this time with no squealing like the Corsair, but with only the 8300 GS nVidia PCIe card instead 4670 and only a 4 pin CPU connector instead of 8 pin (doesn't have an 8 pin).

BTW2: Squealing was like an old TV squeal ( EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound )

If you're willing to spend 90$ go for this Lepa G500, if however you want to spend as little as possible, chose between any of this:
XFX Core 450W, XFX Core X550W, Antec EA-500 Green, all good PSUs and more than sufficient for your needs..

Any PSU / GPU or other peripheral can have coil whine, it really is a luck of the draw. Either RMA or better get used to it if that happens. I had a loud whine in my old Silencer and still do on my 285 which I use for PhysX.

I'm really wanting to spend more like the CX500 price ($60) but want to get one worth it's weight.

This 400 watt Corsair Builder Series (The first edition one..) works fine in this machine, did they screw up the quality with newer ones or something?

You never heard of XFX!?.. well they're made by Seasonic.. 5 year warranty, the 450W unit should be enough for your system though..
Lepa G500 is a rebranded Enermax Modu 87+, and the Antec EA-500 Green is a high quality Delta unit.. all of them are best deals at their respective price points

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207013 says only a 3 year warranty.

But, I'm willing to live with 3 years of warranty if it's a go ? (Good buy another words) ?
