Default Corsair HX1050 Review @ KitGuru

    http://www.kitguru.net/components/po...supply-review/

    Vreg was great
    Ripple is solid
Efficiency probably won't hit Silver when in the hot box at 115v

Would one rather get this, or A-Data HM120 for about the same price? That's quite a tough question, I must admit.

3 years warranty for HM 1200 vs 7 years warranty for HX 1050, i guess that makes it easy..

Considering the 12v power of this guy and it's raw performance. I'd probably pick it.

    Default New Grille Design?

Just saw this post on Facebook. Even though Be Quiet is not too well known outside of their native Germany it appears that someone at Corsair has been paying attention to them!

I've never seen any articles on it, but does that fan grille design reduce acoustic noise in any significant way? Or improve air flow?

    no.

Or is seen inside your case?

    no.

Or do a better job of keeping mice, cats, moths or your fingers out of the fan?

    no.

    Should anyone care?

    no.

These types of grills are supposed to reduce the amount of "wush" you hear from high airflow fans.

Does it do it really or by a noticeable means? I doubt it. Looks kinda cool though.

At Computex; though it's been in the CWT UL Database for a year+ now.

It was done as a cosmetic change, not as a functional change. The rules were basically "make it look different but don't negatively affect airflow, performance, or noise level" so your choices are pretty limited.

Glad to see Be Quiet thinks we're copying them, though. Heh.
