    Default Rigol VS5000 usb scopes

Has anyone worked with a Rigol VS5000.
I am thinking to update my trusty but old tech. Stingray with one of these

    http://www.rigolna.com/products/digi...scopes/vs5000/

In Europe I found the VS5042 for about 350€ including shipping (and two years ago I bought the stringray for 200€ )

this scope doesn't have drivers for win 7 x64 (but works with x86). The only problem is that I use x64 on my loads control PC

When I asked rigol if they gonna release any new drivers that will also support x64 they replied that I should buy another scope!!!!!

You could run a supported OS in a virtual machine, perhaps...
Also, tell Rigol to take their o'scope and shove it
Careful what you wish for... You just might get it.

I guess that means you look elsewhere. Right?
Intel i7-2600k with an XSPC Raystorm water block, 4x4GB Corsair Dominator, SLi Evga-GTX560Ti-448 FTWs, Asrock Extreme4 Gen3, Crucial M4 256GB SSD, Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD, powered by a Silverstone Strider+ 850 PSU in a Silverstone TJ-07BW case.
I'm not buying EK GPU blocks ever again. (One GPU killed)

I already bought it unfortunately. But I will probably sell it because I don't want to format my loads PC and install x86 OS (I have 8 gigs of ram installed).

I also have a Rigol 1052e but probably I will buy a four channels scope, which by the way are bloody expensive. I was thinking to buy a USB one but since their prices are crazy high (I am talking about serious brands and not Chinese ones like Hanteks etc.) I will go for a normal one that has USB port for PC control.

I'd say just install Virtualbox (open source) and install a 32bit OS inside it... it supports USB capture as far as I know.

I will try but as I already wrote Zacate is already slow for my program since I control about 12 usb devices with this PC in real time. I am afraid that a virtual os will make things far worse.

How difficult is for Rigol to make x64 drivers, I wonder!!!

If the cpu has virtualization support, it will basically run just like the host system.. almost transparently.
