    Default OLD OLD vIDEO

From the past, my 05 Compaq webbrowser, I did a CPU-Z and discovered the GeForce FX5200 128 AGP was 03, So picked up an ASUS Sony FX5200 AGP from a Vario? whose psu fried motherboard (therefore cheap) intended for another older assembly and tried it and it appears a vast improvement.
I have also purchased an HD4650 AGP (used) yo see what it does.
So YO comments besides wasting time?

unless the second 5200 had more memory or was a rare 5200GT, I don't see how it could perform better. Those cards gave shit a bad name.

the 4650 will be a vast improvement, I'm talking the difference between PT109 and the USS Nimitz.

    Glad to hear it.
Original card is DIRECTX 8, from 2003, suposed upgrade to Compaq SR1230NX Athlon FX 3200+ (2.2) upgraded to 2 gb memory and Visa Home Premium. Bought with computer.
Sony card is 2008 DIRECTEX9 and despite newer chips four times size of old one, and running newer software (2006). cOST $7 Shipped on a low bid (advertised new $65-70!!!)
So RESONSE IS JUNK BOTH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. OK (still a lot on web)
Hopefully new card will arrive soon.
They have been listing some Geforce 7600 gt cards (new) but I believe the 4650 is much more capable. Basically a learning experience swapping parts etc
Is it me or do price/performance retail resail go all over the place dealing with computers.
    Seems like a bazaar sometimes..
SAW a post where people are still using old machines, I feel this is competetive with the better P4s. Will need new PSU for card, description recommends 400 watt.
lol never ends. Is this kind of builds a good way to learn? With carefully picked new parts much simpler, but for now building experence and confidence.
Just need ecouragement sometimes. When I try to talk computer people run and hide, um will post off topic maybe.
Thanks for kindness. and things are confusing as facts opinions experience are shaking down. Mistakes speed the learning curve "if planned for"!
In other words I need balance... it helps.
