    Default New TV time!!

    just bought one of these:

    Sanyo DP42740 Plasma

so far I like it. It's a major step up from the 32" Emerson I was using.

I'm not worried about it not being 1080P, at the price point I was shopping at ($500 or less), the biggest 1080P from a brand I trust was 37". There were 40" models but they wore brands like Westinghouse, Apex and Broksonic.

it's complemented nicely by my Bose Cinemate speakers.

paid $30 for them at a CB shop. Guy didn't realize what he had. There's no way I'd pay what they ask for those things. All I had to do was find a universal remote that worked with them.

Yeah, in that case it's not a bad deal Retail prices on Bose hardware are just insane

I am quite happy with my Westinghouse 42" TV. I have had it just over 4 years.

if its out of warranty i would say open it up and replace any crap-brand or already bad caps before they blow out anything more complicated to fix
