This fall was brought about by the combination of low sales and profit margins on GeForce GTX200 series graphics cards, withdrawal from the GPU business, lack of marketing and poor reputation of their power supplies, and the general failure of their Deimos gaming laptop and Phobos PC ventures.
This portion is speculative and, for the most part, false. Deimos and Phobos didn't put a dent in the cause of BFG's problems. BFG's problems were largely graphics card related, but not related to GTX200. Sales and profit margins on that card were quite good actually. The biggest problem was GTX400 (Fermi) allocation. And the only reason they continued to sell power supplies after they got out of the graphics card business was because there were power supplies to sell. But they couldn't sell them as quickly as they had been used to because once Best Buy caught wind of BFG not being able to supply graphics cards, they dropped selling their power supply product line as well. If there's any question as to how much of a dent that put into BFG's business, let's put it this way: Best Buy sold TEN TIMES more BFG power supplies than Newegg. Of course, they returned three times as much, but the benefits of the large volume could not be denied.

Do you mind if I use that information to improve the article?

What? You think you might be getting the same ES-800 back?

wonder why BFG sent mrestine back a letter referring to an RMA'd video card and not a PSU. If what Jonny said was true (no reason to believe otherwise) BFG had PSU's still in the warehouse.

Generally when a large company liquidates, it arrests most or all control to a third-party that has no interest in helping you out. Even if it's an in-house liquidation, I'm sure most of the support staff has been let go by now.
