    Default apparently corsair is bad

    My rig

    720 BE @ 3.7 GHz
    5770 CF @ 1 GHz
    GA-MA790X-UD4P
    5 case fans + 1 cpu fan
    2 GB DDR2 ram 1066 4-5-5-15
    WD Caviar Black 1 TB

I was planning on getting VX550 for it because I don't actually have the 5770 CF yet and I have a 500 W generic PSU so I need something better. I know the 500W is enough but my mate says corsair is overrated and I should go with something else? I am looking for something inexpensive but still good quality.

    Thanks!

Your mate is dead wrong. Though it would help to know your location and what PSU's are available to you.

What other PSUs do you have available to you? There are plenty of other relatively inexpensive quality PSUs, but it all depends on what is available to you from the retailers you get your parts from.

Corsair is good and usually a best-buy.

Depends on where you're buying from. Not too sure what's cheap in Poland but next door in Germany you have both Antec (Basiq Plus and Earthwatts) and Corsair at very good prices given the quality.

I'd have to go with overrated on the corsair. Antec is a good alternative, and mushkin makes a couple decent modular ones

SeaSonic is reasonable in the States and has a 5 year factory direct warranty. Can't speak to the availability or pricing in Poland.
