Default NSC: Load Transient Testing Simplified

Application Note 1733 Load Transient Testing Simplified

Let's hope we can see JG's transient response test soon. Antec has claimed that the transient response of Signature is 100 times faster than others, and SilverStone Rep has said they intended to make their Olympia the best dynamic performer.
It's been a hard day's night and I've been working like a dog.

well I don't have the know how to apply a 1A/1uS slewed load per the ATX guide transient response test...was too slow at first and now with non-inductive resistors too fast lol. Gonna go ahead with it as is just to compare one unit with another...here's a 12V/10A transient waveform on a 6-pin PCIe on a Toughpower 700.

pretty much instantaneous though. Got some 5V and 3.3V loads to wire up and another 12V/10A and that'll be my smack down transient response test...it is what it is.

well I spent quite awhile a year ago or so trying to come up with a transient response test that I liked...killed the Antec EA-500D Grey doing that...didn't like the results and decided I wanted to try it with some expensive non-inductive resistors and finally did it last week...actually got most of them new surplus so wasn't so dear. Anyway I was just messing around with it here on my computer desk with no other loadings on it...it'll be in the load tester with a small idle type system load on the same connectors and then I'll do a few units for comparison purpose and then yeah the HCP-1200 is repaired and on it's way here.
