Default Enermax Galaxy Evo EGX1250ETW-01 - product SKU questions

    Hello,

I need to buy a new power supply for my rig and I've decided to go Enermax this time. However I am confused about the SKUs for Enermax products.

1st, I would like to know what is the difference between the Galaxy EVO
series versus the Revolution 85+ series.

At this point I'm trying to decide regarding the following product:

Enermax Evo Galaxy 1250W EPS12V ATX 24PIN Modular Power Supply

It is listed as EGX1250ETW-01. Can someone tell me if it's the crossfire or the
SLI version? the SKU is nowhere to be found on enermaxusa.com nor enermax.com on enermax.com.tw

    Regards

The 1250W Galaxy EVO is basically just a 1250W version of the Revolution85+. Same platform and everything. I'm not really clear on the reasons why it's branded as a Galaxy instead of a Revolution85+, but hopefully someone else can shed some light on that.

The CF and SLI versions are identical. The reason there are two SKUs is because nVidia and ATI won't allow a PSU to be certified for both SLI and CF, so they have to make two different SKUs, one certified for SLI and one for CF (but identical for all intents and purposes). It's pretty silly, but that's the way it is.

For some reason the Revolution 1250W wouldn't pass UL testing. So as Spectre said, they "gimped it" to pass inspection and sell in North America...and sell it as the Galaxy Evo
