Arrow Death of a Gutless Wonder

Quite some time ago, I took a look at several cheap-o units as part of my Bargain Basement roundup in an effort to determine whether or not these generic units that come free with computer cases are worth trusting. Since then, I've had people hounding me to blow up some more of these units.

Today, I've decided to listen to those people as I take a look at a generic "LPSW" branded 350W unit and try to let the magic smoke out.

nice :P Sad that a psu can't handle even 300watts.. I wonder if it's lighter then a YE power supply.

Haha, crazy stuff. Hm, that unit looks like some old pos thing sitting in the "old hardware" box in my storage closet. It says 400W, but it's so light it could float on water, so I wager it's not.

The double diode thing is cost cutting to its finest degree - I've seen it before in the real crap units.

i think you got a bit of a typo about the power connectors in the back, you said "This is one of very few ATX units out there to feature a male AC receptacle on the back." I think you meant female and ive never seen a female connector on a PSU either, thats strange.

I think I'll blow it up instead. I like explosions.
