Default Is this Antec TPII 430W bad?

    Hello,
First of all, I must say thanks for the great website, it helped me decide in getting a good quality PSU, the Silverstone OP650. But I was going to give a buddy of mine my old TPII 430W. I did read on this site about the Fuhjyyu (sp?) caps that are bad. I looked into my PSU, found a Fuhjyyu cap and saw some red stuff on the top. Does this mean it is leaking and require and RMA (bought back in Nov 05)? Sorry for the noob question, I was totally in the dark about PSUs until I found this forum.

I had one die on me too. They might send you a trio in replacement.

Yes, please give us the UL.

Antec Fremont, Ca. is making a very strong effort to get things right with their PSUs. RMAs are easy and they do up-grade often. The CWT provided units are showing up w/o Fuhjyyu caps...for now.

Default Wish I could offer pics

No pics have been posted over at Badcaps but several builders have commented on the newer CWT units not having the dreaded Fuhjyyus. Those guys generally open up the PSUs after stress testing a new build. They care not for the warranty. They like the old Smart & TruePower units...AFTER a recap. (If Fuhjyyu PSU fails during stress testing it gets RMAed, if not it gets recapped)

Topcat is stress testing 4 identical systems for mainboard cap performance using 4 different brands of capacitors. He wants to see just how well the new brand SAMXON holds up. All are doing well over the past year. The comps are in a hot closet. T'is true.
