I must take this oppertunity to tell you of something:

"4x4" drivers (people in honda crv's, toyota 4runners, and ford escape's) suck. "oohh look at me I have 4 wheel drive look at me try to drive like an asshole"

I wonder why 3/4 of all those 'vehicle in the ditch' reports I hear when it's snowing, are of those small suv's.

    I hate small suv's.

Yeah. I noticed the same thing. We're in blinding snow doing 20 in a 40 and here comes Joe 4x4 weaving in and out of traffic like it's the middle of July.

So far I've only seen two ditched cars. One was a Taxi Van. The other was a 4x4 truck that had to be flying because his truck was a good 20' from the shoulder.

God I know that feeling. Back when I was doing stainless fabrication, I needed the OT, so I'd get there at about 3:30AM and leave as late as 6 or 7PM. And people wonder why I have thyroid problems now...

Total lack of sun exposure helps bring on Winter depression. Get what sunshine you can during the day, even 15 minutes will help.
Dang Jon, no windows! Are you using a Mac?

At 10:00am I will going for a 15 mile bicycle ride today here at 90815.

I usually get out for lunch.

Yeah.... no windows. My office is something that was added to the back of the warehouse. I don't get to sit up front with everyone else. Maybe because I smell like power supply.

The bottom line......4 wheel drive or not...you can't fucking drive on ICE....

Yeah. Once wheels slide... they slide. 4x4 gives you a sense of confidence due to the acceleration on snow/slush/ice, but it doesn't matter how many wheels can propel the vehicle forward when the car starts sliding.

I've got ESC in the VeraCruz. No substitute for 4x4, but in the snow when the wheels start doing that left right left right thing, it gets you moving good from a dead stop.

best thing I ever drove on ice was an M113 APC with every other track pad removed........was in Graffenwhor Germany in the winter of 84 when Range control called the tank trails black...no movement.... hunker down where you were....... and had a mechanic come down with acute appendicitis. No medivac was flying so we had to bring him down from the mountain overlooking the impact area to the hospital...about 30 KM with a solid 2 inches of ice on the roads.......loads of fun.....
