Default ATI 2900XT crossfire + Q6600 possible with this psu?

    Hi all,

I have an FSP 700W (about 1 year old), just got a second card until friday and want to test them in crossfire before returning to the owner. Do you guys think I could pull a short 3Dmark or something with my current psu or I´d blow the heck out of it ? . I also have another 500W psu, do you think I can connect 1 vga to the 500w unit and the remaining to the FSP? would that be safe?. Everything is going to run at stock volts / clock unless you guys tell me it´s safe not to . Looking forward to your replies.

You can certainly run the cards off the 700W. My issue is you're going to be running in the upper 25% of that PSU's capability where the ripple is at it's worse.

You can use the second PSU if you're willing, but hook more up to it than just the video cards PCI-e connectors. You don't want to put a load on only one rail of a PSU.

thanks for reply. Yeah ripple is my worst concern with this psu as it will be close to its max load with this kind of hardware. you think there´s room for overclock?
