Default Corsair HX620W high pitch noise

    Hello,

My Corsair HX620W PSU emits a high pitch noise* especially when I run an application or click my mouse. Is that normal? Could it be because my system's consumption is low?

*this sound is very similar to that "coil noise" that some motherboard have.

    My system specs:
    A64 3200+, EPoX 9NPA+ SLi, 1GB DDR400, 250GB Hitachi T7K250 + 500GB Samsung T166, Radeon X1950PRO, LG DVDRW, few cooling fans.

    Thank You.

I tried a Seventeam ST-750EAJ with the same behaviour:

    - When scrolling a web page with the wheel mouse button
    - When running 3D applications, such as game or 3D rendering software, or any other application that required higher typical load from the PSU.

For me it's unacceptable, so I returned the PSU.

High pitch noise, and I'm sure it was coming from the PSU. Not the speakers, headphones or PC internal speaker. I'm 100% sure it was the PSU.

Yes, it is pretty annoying. I'm sure it's the PSU too (I've just removed it from the case to be sure where the noise is coming from).

But in my case when I stress both CPU and VGA card this noise gets lower.

Also, the 8th item of spcr review says something about a buzzing with low load in the +12V rail:
