    Default Ultra's Carbon Fiber Case

    Hi All,

Is there any news as to when we can expect Ultra to release their new Carbon Fiber Case?

Also let me take this opportunity to let Jonny know that I have learned a lot about Power Supplies reading the articles here & visiting the Forums. Well Done

I have not heard a date, but know they are doing some redesigning on it. Seen a few pics of the latest works. Brings a few more options to the table . Sorry don't have the pics though.

Default About the Ultra carbon fiber case...

Has anyone seen the new cable management solution it has? Apparently you plug your devices into some thing that's a part of the case and then plug your PSU cables into the case as well.

My gut impulse is that this is only a good idea on paper. I think there will be problems with it.

    Thoughts?

I am not sure if Jon has one that came with the power strip. From looking at the pictures on Ultra there are 4 inputs and 8 outputs. I am sure they will clearly state a maximum load for them.

As long as the user doesn't exceed the rating there should be no problems.

Why do you think there would be problems? The traces in the PCB can handle WAY more current than a cable and the cables on either end are very short. There shouldn't be much additional resistance.

I did have a case with a Power Strip at CES. Two SATA hard drives and two 8800GTX cards were powered by the strip.

I do consider you the authority on power related issues. Thanks for the clarification.
