    Default Power supply failed.....

I just had a Etasis 850w gaming power supply fail on me yesterday when I went to turn on my computer and am wondering if I should exchange it for another one or just get my money back and buy something better, if there is anything better. I would just like some input from you folks thanks.

Hard to find something better than an Etasis 850W.

How did it "fail?" This was confirmed a PSU problem and not something else, right?

Yes sir, I turned my computer on yesterday after I got home from work and heard a pop come from somewhere and long story short I took the power supply out and tested it but still nothing and so I have come to the conslusion that it is indeed dead and I hope it did not kill anything else. I know the power supply is good from your reviews and from what others have said but I am tired of messing with these things I just recently had an enermax 600w randomly fail on me aswell is there something wrong I am doing maybe or am I just cursed lol.

Full system specs please. Not so much for my help but for the hot shoes on this board. The Libertys have been known to give it up when pushed to near full output for long periods of time.

There is only one SMPS aguably better than Etasis...Zippy/Emacs
http://www.zippyusa.com/ Look at the spec of the PSL or PSM units.

You might look at the high output PCP&C units but they cost more than Zippy and offer better customer support.

I would want to make sure there isn't a short somewhere that could pop a PSU with a high in-rush current.

I mean, two different "good" PSU's failing? Some people DO have bad luck, but....

    ???

    Gigabyte G1-Turbo
    Intel D 940 OCed to 3.8ghz
    2x1GB Corsair 4-4-4-12 PC2-5400
    Gigabyte 1900xtx
    2 Samsung 300gb HD's
    Creative x-fi XtreamMusic

Yeah that new 1000w PC Power & Cooling looks pretty tasty.

Yeah I wouldn't even know where to start though everything looks good to me but I am no expert. I have everything plugged into a Tripp-Lite isotel surge strip which is one of the better surge strips out there and it looks fine to me.

    Tasty, but TOTALLY overkill.

How long did you have the Etasis? And the Enermax, which should have been enough for your build too; how long was that in the build before it gave up?

Etasis 4 days and the Enermax about 4 or 5 months maybe longer I am not really sure on that one.

You could easily power this with a Corsair 520W!
