Question Which SuperFlower PSU For Cheapo PC (Or Just Get A Cheaper PSU) ??

    hi,

my new cheapo PC will consist of a budget ASRock B450m-Pro4 Motherboard........8GB Crucial (2400mhz or 2666mhz) RAM.......Crucial MX500 (500GB) SSD...........Ryzen3 3200g CPU........no graphic card since i do not use it for gaming at all.....

there's 2 Superflower PSU models going for the same price.......the GX Pro is semi-modular and that seems to be the only difference..........i'm most concerned with durability so which one likely to last longer ??

or perhaps i can get a cheaper brand PSU since my PC is so cheap anyway ??

    LEGION GX PRO 650W (https://www.super-flower.com.tw/prod...ID=129&lang=en)

    LEGION HX 650W (https://www.super-flower.com.tw/prod...ID=133&lang=en)

They're probably completely different. If you look at back grille shots for them on SF site they look very different. GX Pro has a capacitor in the centre of the PCB like on Leadex platform, while HX resembles what is shown on Newegg listings on both, still not quite the same. So i'd say, probably, GX Pro should be a better pick since it appears to be closer to Leadex which we have some reviews on at least, not on this particular implementation tho, but that platform on HX looks like some spin on their old-ass Golden Green platform and i haven't seen any modern reviews of it ... Still it's all guesswork without any reviews.

seems to suggest the internals are the same (look at the pictures in the overview tab)

The winding on the core is fascinating

Yeah, but if you look at exhaust grille shots, they're completely different.

Interestingly it is the HX that seems to have the fancy coil technology

I think it's more likely that the backside of the Legion GX Pro is the wrong picture.

i'm from Singapore and both the SuperFlower models are going for about USD82........which model you think will likely to last longer ?

other PSUs i was considering were not well regarded though........models like........

    CooleerMaster MasterWatt 550w.........USD62

CoolerMaster MWE V2 Gold 550w.........USD82 (same price as the SuperFlowers)

CoolerMaster MWE V2 Bronze 550w.........and the Corsair CX series
