Is this PSU compatible with my ancient HP dc5800 workstation upgrade?

A Core 2 Duo E8600 is like the name already says a dual core, a Q8400 is a quadcore. I thought you could get a Q9400 for only 10 dollars? Best deal probably.

Now that I feel good about getting the c2q, how much of improvement will I see if I get a q9450/q9550? It's only 15$/20$. It has 12mb cache instead of 6mb. Is it worth it? Sorry I'm really curious today.. But that my final question (for this thread)

My guess: with your slow RAM (DDR2) you will need all the cache you can get; make sure to update the BIOS before putting in the new CPU

I went for an air-cooled GPU to avoid noise and the hassle of worn fans.
