How about BMW that have such a quiet cabin that they introduce fake engine noise through speakers.

I agree, probably just like a good driver needs to hear the sound of the engine, for control, so does need a reasonable sound of the computer.

Well for HDD you should have LED on the case.

And some just run SSDs
