Default Gigabyte P-GM - 'With an Explosive Attitude' - Aris's review

    https://www.techpowerup.com/review/g...-p750gm-750-w/

Primary side FETs (11A Jilin Sino-Microelectronics) blew up after passing OPP on startup attempt ...
Also a ton of DOA cases on Newegg.

Anybody know the difference between 'Aorus' P-GM and normal P-GM s?

+ OK they are completely different

++ KC DB says AP-GMs are made by 'Xiamen Metrotec' and P-850GMs are made by 'Xiamen Castec', so indeed they are same company... right?

Same company, MEIC Power it seems. Completely different stuff, AP-GM wasn't that bad, there were some ripple issues in Aris review and a good amount of user feedback mentioning terrible coil whine so perhaps these ripple issues weren't only on Aris's sample but it at least didn't blow up.

Yes, it's the same MEIC that Gigabyte's been working with since around 2012.
