    Regular Focus has three revisions. The earliest revision can be easily tripped by Vega and 2080Ti. The latest "Focus GX-750" version is on the edge of tripping with 10900/3080 rig, so with Focus GX-650 some user will be affected by the spikes, depending on the stress of their application.

    You don't have to have the OCP or OPP set high. These spikes are so fast, OCP or OPP isn't going to catch them in an analog PSU. In fact, in most cases I bet the secondary caps alone have enough power to sustain a portion of and "soften" the spike. I think it's a non-issue for any "quality" PSU.
    Thank you, I will re-test as you suggest. Or adding some Capacitors to 12V will improve. But they will bring other problems. For example, after shutting down the computer, it will not be able to start again after a short time. The cost will increase, or some patent disputes will be caused.

    Do revised FX(v2) and GX(v3) have different overload protection profiles?


    Is current for protection circuit measured after the caps, or before the caps?

    They seem to. FX based units had OPP & OCP all over the place in the range of 120-140%, GX based units Aris tested so far have both OCP and OPP set no lower than 140%. No idea if that's the only difference tho.

    I think V2 and V3 are pretty much the same for the OPP. V2 was released after the compatibility issue with AMD Vega64/56. Since NVIDIA Turings aren't as stressful as Vegas, there was no need for V3 to further loosen the OPP back then.

    The current for OPP is measured on the primary side which is before the output caps.
