New GPU advice please

Hi,

Currently running a very hot r9 290x which I'd bought back in the day when life was simpler and I didn't have a child to pay for.

I'm thinking about upgrading and have a budget of around £250 to spend on a GPU to put in my new system.

I have been looking at a GTX 1660 Super @ £219.99 but is it worth spending that bit extra and going for a 5600 XT?

I'll be gaming at 1080p and my new PC specs are a Ryzen 5 3600 and 16GB DDR4 3200mhz. I've just bought a new seasonic 550w PSU as well in case that makes a difference.

If you're gaming at 1080p, you're not going to see any performance difference going to the 1660 Super.

R9 290x does get very hot. Has this been a problem for you? If so, maybe the money is better spent with aftermarket cooling or a larger chassis with additional fans.
