I have an AVC fan that has
1B1S BEARING
written on the label
Does this mean one ball, one sleeve bearing?

Yep, they're not common anymore as 2BB has become cheap enough to cut into pretty much any cost saving 1B1S used to have.
Wow. AVC. That's a name I haven't heard in a very long time.
Which leads me to a related question: how do one ball bearing fans work?
I have a one ball bearing fidget spinner and there is a lot of slop on the bearing, or does one ball bearing imply ball/sleeve?

To be fair, fidget spinners don't have the highest quality bearings.![]()
So single ball bearing fans really are just that? I would expect them to be quite noisy as they rattle around.
And .... that leads to another question.
are ceramic bearings being used in some ball bearing fans? either hybrid or full ceramic.

I have wasted enough time on this topic; thanks for all the help.
