    Default In wire caps

    Hello everyone,
I'm building in a Corsair 1000D and getting an ax1600i and I know they have in wire caps. I'm looking to hide the caps inside the PSU shroud before the wires come out and run up the back. My research has indicated it's best to have the caps closest to the GPU or mb as possible so I was looking at getting the cooler master 90 degree 24pin adapter with caps inside. And the EVGA one for the GPUs. Would it be a problem adding more caps I've looked all over for answers on this with out much luck.

The capacitors in the wires are not needed, they are only there to get a higher rating in reviews. In my option a PSU with those caps should however get a lower rating because there isn't any advantage only disadvantages in real life.

To reduce ripple, but at some point it doesn't really need reducing further; it becomes a numbers game where the user thinks that half the ripple is twice as good. Imagine a mirror where one could spend money to half the ripple on the mirror; but at some point it makes no difference to the functionality of that mirror.

Extra components that are not needed means more points of failure, so yes it can be a bad idea.

Proviso: this reasoning is not valid when the extra components are for protection.
