    Question Stepped approximation to a sinewave VS modern PSU ?

    Is there a problem if i get a new PC?

    At the moment is used on old PC as server for all the store info and it's mostly used when power goes down for around 30+ mins.

    Can the stepped approximation to a sinewave cause any damage on the new PC, if it runs on battery for over 30 mins? (mostly care if it can hurt the SSD cause of the data loss)

    99% of the time, with a new PC, there's no issue.

    Even if there's an issue, it won't damage the PC. Best case scenario: The PC shuts down instead of going to battery power when the UPS switches over because the PSU detects the abnormal sine wave and that triggers a protection. Worst case: The PSU isn't designed with the proper front end protection and the bulk cap blows up, but that doesn't kill your hardware on the DC side of things.
