    Question Heavy GPU coil whine

    Hey guys.

First of all I'm using an Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 550W, which not a bad PSU.

I'm experiencing coil whine on a ASUS STRIX RX570 on virtually all running heavy loads like ASUS FurMark + CPU Burner, Heaven Benchmark, Valley Benchmark, GTAV, Everspace, Skyrim even old games like Just Cause 2 and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (2010).

While running the GPU utilization would dip to 88%, sometimes 60%, lowest was 51%. Possibly throttling? I assume the PSU doesn't have enough current (amperage) on the 12V rail, it's rated 16 AMPS and my GPU requires 25A according to this list. Apparently it is dual rail, but I tried putting the GPU on the second rail but made no difference. I have no overclocking active. Does this GPU really draw 25 amps?

Strangely enough, my CPU isn't throttling. I'm wondering why this PSU hasn't failed yet? My REAL question is should I get a new PSU? I'm looking at getting a Cooler Master MasterPower 650W, which is stated 54 AMPS on the 12v rail.
