    Default C2D E6420/E6320/E4400 benched

They throw in some X2's and Pentium D's for added flavor

C2D puts A64 to shame, but that is to be expected of CPU architecture that is about 3 years old. Now lets hope it's not going to take AMD as long as it took Intel to develop a better CPU.

The overclocking part is a bit weak. Two processors with the same 'FSB wall' (which btw doesn't exist, but its arguable.) I think the wall was their board, not the cpus. A P5B-Deluxe doesn't automatically hit 500mhz FSB... Some of them will not do it without full vmods, some need a lot of tweaking...

Plus, they were using air cooling

At least it shows L2 cache does make a significant difference in C2Ds, more than clock frequency for games anyway

Looking good, although the higher end X2's are beating a few of the newer and older C2Ds in benchmarks there. Not very healthy if they're to compete with AMD Agena's...

This is what I found most important there:

That's funny because we looked at the same data and I came to a different conclusion.
To me it looked like the extra 2MB of cache was roughly the equivalent to an extra 200MHz (outside of office apps).
But hey, I'll still always take the extra caché that comes with more cache.

the amount of L2 from 2 to 4mb is not going to effect your gaming as much as the FSB/CPU speed will. the extra 2mb's will play more of role when doing something like FAH or SETI clients.

What im seeing is that the higher FSB of the E6320 is what gives it the edge , the extra 2mbs doesnt effect it. now if you wanted to ge a fair match you would use a E6300 vs a E6320. you cant compare a E4400 with a 800fsb to a E6320 with 1066. thats kinda like comparing a VW bug to a porsche.
