Please don't bump a two and a half year old thread because of the word "Topower".

No. Unless it's another brand bought by a Korean company. The same way Coolmax and Micronics was. I'd like to see your sources. Unless this is just some really old inventory.

Topower was an OEM. Zumax was a model of Topower PSU.

Topower closed their China factory and US office around 2010 or so. They then had their PSUs made by Andyson for a while. Then that stopped. Now they just make reflectors and lights for streets and commercial vehicles.

    http://www.zumaxpower.com.cn
Actual OEM for Topower brand's recent product is mostly Dongguan Worldwide Electronics(ZUMAX)
some are even Sirfa and ATNG,

    https://www.gamemeca.com/view.php?gid=113454
This old news is about conflict between 3RSYS and Topower.
3RSYS claimed that ZUMAX is just an OEM for topower(and Topower has about 60% rights)
but Topower(distributor) claimed that ZUMAX is actually subsidary of Topower and the ZUMAX factory supplied 3RSYS on the sly.

    so confusing

Well.. If Topower still has a factory, maybe it's called "Zumax". But for the same reason HEC's is "Loyalty Founder" and Andyson's is "YuJia". But "Zumax" was a line of PSUs from Topower for over 20 years.

None of the non-Chinese companies that operate factories in China are allowed to own 100% of the factory. That's not very good communism. All of the factories are partially owned by the government and they have a controlling interest.

This was put into effect after the 2007-2009 market crash. Millions of Chinese workers were laid off and they don't have the social infrastructure to support them. There's equivalent of unemployment insurance or social security like we do in the states. Since the younger generations were tasked to take care of the elders, as the younger generation were laid off it meant multiple generations were affected.

To make sure this didn't happen again the government said, "You have to get our approval to lay off X amount of people."

So every factory in China is a "joint collaboration" and that's why they almost never have the same name as the company using the factory.

That said.... I'm surprised that they still have a factory. I was told by the owner himself (Ken) that Topower closed down their China factory and any PSUs made were under contract from others. So if Zumax exists as an actual factory, it's relatively new.

The website says it was established in 2010, which is around when Topower got out of the PSU business. And I see a picture with the Topower logo on it. So maybe the Topower of old sold their PSU division off to another company? But it's definitely not the same Topower. Especially if they were established in 2010 (even though they repeatedly say they have "20 years experience" throughout the page.

    So...
    - The original global brand Topower is gone and 'Topower factory' had shut down
    - but its Chinese 'joint collab' factory is alive and selling under 'ZUMAX' brand
    - and locally distributed as 'Topower' brand

    ?

    Probably.

I bet there's as much relationship there as Micronics in Korea and the old Micronics motherboard brand.

Just recycling brand names because coming up with English words that don't sound stupid is hard.
