Default Looking for a SFX PSU

    Hello,

A couple of years ago I came here looking for help and got some amazing advice! So I find myself here again, looking for an SFX PSU for my PC.

My PC, Phanteks Shift X holding:

    CX450M PSU
    i7 4790K stock
    MSI Z97i Gaming ACK
    GTX 1080 FE
    16G Ram
    1tb Firecuda Hybrid
    240G Kingston SSD

I'd like to replace the PSU with a small form factor one, for neatness and possibly need a bit more power since I've upgraded my build lots since I got the CX450M

I'd like to spend under 100 if possible

Amazon has an SF600 Gold for 99.99
EVGA GM 550 and 650 for 70.47 and 95.59 respectively

Any thoughts on the above and any other suggestions?

    Many thanks!

Your PC consumes around 300W tops, so you don't need something around the 600W.

EVGA GM 450, Corsair SF450 Gold and Corsair SF450 Platinum are good choices.

The EVGA is a good budget option for it's price. The Corsair SF Gold is a good high-end option and the SF Platinum is even better, it's a bit more efficient, but also has a better fan controller and has sleeved cables.

    Cheers The Mask!

Appreciate the advice, surprised how little power the system uses, would these PSUs be ok if I decided to overclock the CPU at some stage?

The EVGA is hard to look past at that price :O

Sure, more than enough room for CPU overclocking with a good 450W PSU.

Agreed, even if it can't compete performance wise with the Corsair SF, the price is also much lower.

    Did you mean can't compete?

Either way, I decided to treat myself to the SF450, Corsair has served me well these last few years so I feel confident in them!

I think it was you who recommended my previous PSU so thanks again!

The Corsair SF is for sure the best SFX PSU.
