    In theory this has a maximum holdup time of 54 ms, so in practice should be able to meet the 16 ms requirement.

    Rapid high current charges/discharges.

    Basically for the Cap you have perma inrush situation.
    Cap don't like that, so they explode after a certain amount.

    Remember we are talking about a couple of hundred/thousand of those charges/discharges per second!
