    Default Pure Power 11 exploded, will XFX XTR2 gonna be big improvement?

    Hey guys, im running R5 2600 @ 4Ghz, 980Ti ( OC'ed to the max below 1500mhz w/ stock Factory OC voltage ), 2x8GB RAM @ 1.35v ( OC'ed 3000mhz -> 3200 Mhz ), AIO Cooler with 2x 120mm fans, and other 4 120mm fans + SSD + HDD.

    So basically PP11's 600W capacitor exploded and leaked some liquid out while on idle after the PC was left overnight, now i've ordered XFX XTR2 650W, but i will get new PP11 from RMA too, which one i should stay with long term?

    Damn....

    And your on 230V mains, right?

    Were you using a UPS and did the UPS kick in overnight?

    What are/were the temperatures where the PSU is being used?

    It was running fine for days on torture ( 3D Rendering using CUDA+CPU which is as intense as Prime95+FurMark combined and it didnt exploded so i guess it's not due to overheating ), idk about the temps, but CPU+GPU probs was around 30c during night time it was only browser on on idle when it failed, during load GPU reaches around 70c ( set limit in Afterburner ) also CPU doesn't go above 58c. Ambient Temps varies from 20 to 28c~.

    About the PSU temps i have no idea, but it was never hot when i touched near/on it with my hand ( fan placed to bottom where is vent hole on Deepcool E-Shield ).

    Yes it's 230V ( Europe, just pretty much regular 5store appartment with Soviet electricity installation i guess, no UPS, there was no issues with other PSU's such as OCZ ZS 650W for years on previous PC's ).

    Seems like a design issue with that bulk cap. I would definitely reach out to be Quiet.

    RMA rate for PP11 is within the normal range (I work for a large European distributor). You should be fine with a replacement.

    Thanks, but what about the XFX XTR2 650W ?
    It's hard to find an info on it, but according to orionpsudb.com it's the Seasonic Prime Gold which should be superior to PP11 right?

    Its unknown as there are no tests, Pure Power 11 is tested...
    Its also possible that they are based on Focus, wich isn't that good...

    Pure Power 11 is tested and has no known issues.

    XFX XTR2 650W is based on Seasonic Focus, just like the Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 650W.

    Interesting, because based on the review it scored nearly 10/10 in 2017 and same with the Prime Gold and XFX XTR is pretty much same just rebranded, just was curious about the XFX XTR2 if its better/worse or its even truly is prime gold under different logo ( the design of buttons/etc seems same ).

    Also i keep hearing that this Focus is almost one of the best PSU's out there especially on the budget side, unless you mean "Focus" not "Focus Gold Plus" etc since the models is quite confusing to me
