Default Fractal Design ION+ 860P Power Supply Review @ Tomshardware

The last time we reviewed a Fractal Design PSU was in 2015, so it was a pleasant surprise to see the company revitalizing its power supply portfolio with new products. The ION+ series includes four models with capacities ranging from 560W to 860W. They're all 80 PLUS Platinum-certified. The highest-end implementation also has ETA-A efficiency and LAMBDA-A+ noise badges from Cybenetics. All ION+ units are fully modular and use a capable High Power platform.

Price wise and noise output it's definitely competitive. Still somewhat disappointing to see that High Power can't really compete on the high end.

If Fractal Design want to change it, most downsides should be easy fixable.

why does it look like a be quiet unit??

Anyway, besides the usual stuff (OCP, lack of Multi-Rail), it seems pretty neat.

I don't see any resemblance with be quiet!. Wire grill is like Corsair, back is different then anyone else, same goes for the front (wire side), other sides aren't anything special, but doesn't look like a be quiet!.

Internals looked a lot like the CWT GPU to me, when I first saw it I thought it was a de-badged RMx...

Does Fractal have anyone on staff that's really capable enough to get High Power in gear?
