    Default PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mark III 750 decent at 70$?

    So I bought a bunch of comptuer parts from microcenter, because they were giving some crazy discountson older hardware (50$ Ryzen 1600) because of Amazon's Prime day and Ryzen 3 coming out. I needed a PSU and bought one of these units at 70 $, not knowing too much about it other than its a gold unit. At the price point mostly what I saw online was a bunch of Bronze units and Microcenter doesn't have a ton of PSU selection. I want to know y'alls opinion of the unit at that price point. I am not the type of person to drive dual graphics or overclock, but I see my self replacing the CPU I jsut bought with a highend unit a year down the road.

    It's not bad. It's an LLC with independent regulation (but not DC to DC) IIRC.

    As long as it was stored in the store for the last five years (that's how long it's been since that unit was "new"), the caps should still be in good shape.

    It's DC-DC. Agreed though, if it was kept in a good environment (e.g. not a hot warehouse) should be fine.

    SuperFlower designs (like retail SuperFlower units, and some licensed designs) used to use that connector all the time. With it, you're pretty much wire-gauge limited as those are solid pins.

    On the PSU end. What about where the current goes?

    You'd have to upgrade both connectors, GPU / Mobo side and PSU side, as well as the cabling between to eliminate that kind of issue. If you just upgrade one side or the cabling, you can still burn things on the other side. That's the problem with using things like cheap adapters.

    Yes and no, sometimes more than one thing hangs off a single cable.
