    Default You'll find me here!

    Hi guys!

Been scaling back on my "social media" use a bit and that includes forums I post on.

Actually, I've been scaling back on forums for a while now because the user base is getting dumber and I just don't have the patience to deal with them anymore. My last forum outside of this one was LTT and now I'm done with that one too.

I will remain here, so if anyone asks how to get a hold of me, they can post here. NOT private message. But POST so the community can help them as a team (as I don't always have the right answers). LOL!

“I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”

    Yep. Sagan nailed it.

And it's not just the users on the forums. I feel that humanity as a whole. But America and Americans in particular are pretty clueless. Nothing political. Not judging the education system. Just people in the U.S. are uncaring, selfish slobs for the most part.

Don't get me started... it won't be pretty.

I am steaming... today I help my Son with an online maths course
and trig functions have not yet been introduced, but it merrily invokes
    the Sine and Cosine formula...

This is nothing but a pretense at an education.

P.S. I'm an American even if I was born a Limey (and am still sour)

Well.. I travel abroad a lot, as many of you know. And when I visit EU or Asia and the trains are clean and there aren't homeless everywhere and there isn't shit on the streets (except China. They shit on the streets there too), I have to wonder what has happened to humanity.

Now... it could just be California. I've only lived here five years and I've found that it's an enabling environment. Allowing public defecation, crime.. the amount of graffiti is ridiculous.

In retrospect: A Californian is alway quick to judge Chicago because of the high number of shootings. Fair. But are there piles of shit in the streets? The trains are very old, but CLEAN. There isn't graffiti every where. At least when I was there last five years ago.

Oh yeah... Remember, California is where we use that special paint that splashes urine back onto the urinator if they pee on a wall!
