    Default Hydraulic bearing

What is an hydraulic bearing on a power supply fan?

    Sleeve?
    Rifle?
    Fluid dynamic?

    Yes.

Unfortunately, "hydraulic bearing" is a new way for manufacturers to be vague. I'm going to bet all of my money on it meaning "sleeve bearing".

If I lose.. that's ok. I don't have that much money.

I suspect you would win, but I'm not gambling. Found this picture on the web, but don't know for which fan.

Unless AVC has changed or updated anything since the last time I've run across their products; it's a sleeve bearing.

They even have an obnoxious cap that's built into the housing behind the motor which prevents you from re-lubricating the bearing if you want to and makes taking the fan apart almost impossible. I normally run into AVC fans inside of laptops and even their ball bearings are trash in those.

It came with an HP power supply, but it is running just fine so I'll leave it in place for now.

It's mostly used to make consumer confuse rifle bearing(or somewhat rifle-sleeve bearing) with real FDB.
In most case, FDB fans are just advertised as FDB.

I remain happy with sleeve so long as there is enough oil initially (which is often not the case).

At this point in time; generic sleeve bearings should not exist. A good rifle bearing with magnetic stabilization should basically be the bog standard unless you're going for single-ball bearing.

    That's one weird thing.

Majority of them I see are Rifles Bearing. While some are Sleeve and some are hydro dynamic.

Here one of hydraulic I've opened lately https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...1/DSC_0256.JPG

Are you talking about AVC fans specifically, or fans in general?

On the open consumer market, Hydraulic Bearing or Hydro Dynamic Bearing is really a crapshoot on what you're going to get. It's even worse now after the RGB craze and the number of rebrands coming out of China that don't even list their bearing type most of the time.
